Damascus is crafted through hammer forging with 240 layers of high-carbon and chromium-molybdenum alloy steels, offering outstanding edge retention. Bone scales possess many aberrations, no two are alike, and they may represent "flaws." Although bone scales do not affect the performance of the knife, they can be delicate and not tolerant of abuse.
